thumb 1614m-iii-lietuvos-statutasThe Third Lithuanian Statute (1614)The museum's book collection of about 6,500 volumes ranges in age from the 15th to the 20th centuries. About 500 volumes are from the 15th – 18th centuries, about 1,700 volumes from the 19th and early 20th centuries, and the rest are from the 20th century.
Among the rare books are: Mikalojus Daukša Postilla Catholicka [Catholic Postil] (Vilnius, 1599); Konstantinas Sirvydas Punktai sakymų [a collection of his sermons] Part one (Vilnius, 1629) and Part two (Vilnius, 1644) and Dictionarum trium linguarum... [tri-lingual Polish-Lithuanian-Latin dictionary] (Vilnius, 1713); Mathias Casimir Sarbievius Lyricorum libri IV [Four Books of Lyrics] (1737); Albert Wijuk Kojalowicz Historiae Lituanae pars prior ... [History of Lithuania] (Gdansk, 1650); Kazimierz Siemienowicz Artis magnae artilleriae pars prima [The Great Art of Artillery, Part One] (Amsterdam, 1650); and, the Third Lithuanian Statute (1588 and 1614 editions).
